Websites and conversion

AI Ready Websites

Most websites were designed for a visitor who arrived from a list of links. Yours needs to work for a visitor who has already read a summary about you, and for the machine that wrote it.

  • Semantic structure and schema from the first wireframe
  • Fast on the phone your customer actually owns
  • Written to answer, designed to convert

Why it matters now

If a model cannot summarise your page, it will summarise someone else’s.

Language models extract. They want a clear heading hierarchy, short declarative sentences, tables and lists where tables and lists belong, and markup that confirms rather than contradicts the visible copy. Sites built from decorative page-builder templates tend to offer none of that.

We build on a design system rather than a template library, so every page ships the same clean markup, the same performance budget and the same accessibility floor — and adding a page later does not undo any of it.

What a machine sees

A model reading your homepage is doing what a hurried human does, only faster and with less patience.

Extraction is the new front door, and most sites were not built with one.

When an assistant answers a question about your category, it is not browsing. It is retrieving fragments, weighing which ones are clear enough to reuse, and composing a reply. The fragments that survive that process share a shape: a heading that states what the section is about, a first sentence that commits to an answer, and markup that agrees with the visible copy.

Page-builder sites are usually the opposite. Headings are chosen for size rather than hierarchy. Key claims sit inside images. Whole sections are decorative. Schema, if present, was bolted on by a plugin and describes something the page does not actually say. None of that is visible to a human visitor, and all of it is disqualifying to a machine.

So we build content-first. The question map comes before the wireframe, each page is given one question to finish, and the structure is written before it is styled. Then a design system — type, colour, spacing, components agreed once — so the twentieth page ships the same clean markup and the same performance budget as the second, instead of accumulating bespoke styling until nothing can be changed safely.

The result is a site that is faster to extend, cheaper to maintain, and legible to both readers. It is also, not coincidentally, faster on a phone, because a page with less decorative weight has less to download.

What this includes

What an AI ready build actually involves.

Content-first structure

We map the questions your buyers ask before we draw anything, then give each one a page that finishes it.

Semantic build

Real headings, real lists, real landmarks. No text baked into images, no heading tags used for styling.

Schema and entity layer

Organisation, service, location, person and FAQ schema wired to the content, so your facts are machine-readable from day one.

Performance budget

Images sized and served properly, scripts justified one by one, Core Web Vitals measured on mobile before launch and after.

Conversion design

Clear primary action above the fold, honest proof near the decision, forms that do not punish the user.

Handover you can use

You get a site your team can edit without breaking the structure, and documentation that says how.

Scope

What the service can include.

Every engagement is scoped to what the site actually needs. Nothing on this list is billed because it appears on a list.

  • Information architecture and service mapping
  • SEO and intent planning before design
  • Semantic heading and content structure
  • Schema and entity clarity
  • Performance and accessibility
  • Conversion pathways and forms
  • Analytics and tracking foundations
  • Content migration and redirect mapping

Straight answers

What "AI ready" does and does not mean.

ClaimedAI ready means adding an AI chatbot to the site.

ActuallyIt means the site can be read, verified and quoted by an assistant. A chatbot is a different product and does nothing for how you are described elsewhere.

ClaimedJust add schema markup and you are done.

ActuallySchema that contradicts the visible page is worse than none. Structure, substance and markup have to agree, which usually means rewriting the page.

ClaimedIt needs a full rebuild.

ActuallyOften the foundations are sound and only the templates need doing. The audit decides, and we will tell you when a rebuild is not worth it.

How we work

From first audit to measured result

  1. 01

    Discovery and question map

Interviews, search and answer-engine research, and the sitemap that falls out of it.

  2. 02

    Design system

Type, colour, spacing and components agreed once, so every page after is fast and consistent.

  3. 03

    Build and content

Pages built and written together, reviewed on staging at desktop, tablet and phone.

  4. 04

    Launch and verify

Redirects, schema validation, analytics and a post-launch check against the pre-launch baseline.

What better performance looks like

The outcome we are actually working toward.

A stronger website makes services easier to understand, reduces friction, supports search discovery and gives customers clearer reasons to enquire.

Plain english

The words, defined.

Extraction
The process by which an AI assistant lifts a passage from a page and reuses it in a composed answer, usually with a citation back to the source.
Semantic markup
HTML that describes what content is — headings, lists, landmarks — rather than how it looks, so machines can map the structure of an argument.
Design system
An agreed set of type, colour, spacing and components used to build every page, so a site stays fast and consistent as it grows.

Proof, not promises

Thirty-two Australian businesses, rebuilt and measured.

Every build in our showcase is a live site you can open, scroll and judge for yourself — with the brief, the approach and the result written up beside it.

  • 32client builds in the showcase
  • 6answer engines we optimise for
  • GooglePartner certified agency

Honest fit

We would rather tell you now than in month three.

A good fit if

  • Your site looks fine but is invisible in AI answers
  • You plan to keep adding pages and want them to stay cheap
  • You have real expertise worth quoting
  • You care what the site does on a phone, not just a monitor

Probably not if

  • You want the same site with new colours
  • Nobody internally can supply the substance the pages need
  • You need it launched inside a fortnight
  • Your category is already taken here

Questions

AI ready websites, answered

What makes a website "AI ready"?

Structure, markup, speed and substance. A page an assistant can parse, verify and quote — and that carries enough real information to be worth quoting.

Do we have to start again?

Not always. If the foundations are sound we would rather rebuild the templates than the site. The audit decides.

What platform do you build on?

Usually WordPress, because most Australian businesses can staff it. We will tell you honestly if your requirements point somewhere else.

Can we see examples?

Yes — the Star Clients showcase has thirty-two live builds, each with a full-page scroll of the finished site.
