How we work

We will never work for your competitor.

There is only one top spot. An agency that takes two limo companies in Melbourne cannot honestly promise both of them the same effort — so we take one, and turn the second one away.

  • One business per industry, per location
  • Capped at 200 clients nationwide
  • Exceptions only: adult, pharmaceutical and gambling

Why it matters now

Search is zero-sum. Agencies that pretend otherwise are competing against themselves.

Search visibility is not created out of nothing — it is taken from whoever currently holds it. If an agency works for you and for the business ranking above you, every hour it spends on one account works against the other. The client paying more tends to win, and neither of you is told.

We think that is straightforwardly unethical, so we removed the possibility. When we take your industry in your location, it is closed. We will not partner with you and then with your competition.

The arithmetic

We do not create traffic. We take it from whoever currently has it.

Search is a fixed pie, which is why exclusivity is not a marketing gimmick.

Search engine optimisation is not magic and it does not conjure demand out of nothing. The searches already exist. The work is moving your business up the order in which those searchers are shown options — which necessarily means moving somebody else down. That somebody is usually a direct competitor.

Now put two competitors in the same agency. Every hour spent on one account is an hour spent against the other. Every insight found for one is an insight withheld from the other, or worse, sold to both. There is one top position and two clients paying for it. The agency cannot lose, and one of the clients cannot win.

Most agencies resolve this quietly, by prioritising whoever is paying more. Neither client is told. We think that is unethical rather than merely awkward, so we removed the possibility rather than managing it. When your industry in your location is taken, it is closed, and the next enquiry from your category gets a straight no.

It costs us revenue — a genuinely large amount of it, every month. What we get back is the ability to share everything we know with you, commit every hour honestly, and run an agency small enough to do deep work. That trade is the business model, not a tagline.

What this includes

What it buys you.

Undivided effort

Every hour we put into your category is put into you. There is no second account in your market quietly absorbing the same research.

Real strategy sharing

We can tell you exactly what is working and why, because that knowledge is not about to be resold to the business down the road.

Deeper analysis

A capped client list is what makes in-depth data analysis and conversion work possible at all.

A held position

Your exclusivity holds for as long as you are a client. Nobody can buy it out from under you.

Straight answers

What exclusivity is, and what it is not.

ClaimedEvery agency says they will look after you.

ActuallyAsk a direct question instead: do you currently work with any other business in my industry and my city? The answer, and how long it takes, tells you everything.

ClaimedExclusivity just means fewer clients and higher prices.

ActuallyIt means fewer clients and deeper work per client. Our pricing sits where it always did — what changes is how much of the team is genuinely yours.

ClaimedIt only matters for SEO.

ActuallyIt matters anywhere the outcome is competitive, which is most of search and paid. It matters less for a one-off build, and we will say so rather than dress it up.

How we work

How the check works

  1. 01

Tell us your industry and area

Not your budget. The first question is whether the slot is even open.

  2. 02

    We check the register

Against every client we currently hold, nationwide.

  3. 03

We give you a straight answer

Open, or taken. If it is taken we will say so rather than sell you something else.

  4. 04

If it is open, we talk

A free website audit, then an honest view on whether we are a good fit.

Plain english

The words, defined.

Category
Your industry within your service area, defined by who you actually compete with for the same search — not by an ANZSIC code.
Client cap
A hard ceiling on total clients, set at 200 nationwide, so the agency cannot grow past the point where deep analysis stops being possible.
Zero-sum visibility
The principle that a position in search results is taken from a competitor rather than created, which is why one agency cannot honestly serve two rivals.

Illustrative, not the live register — but this is exactly how it works.

Sixteen categories, all open. Claim one.

Honest fit

We would rather tell you now than in month three.

A good fit if

  • You have been burned by an agency that turned out to work for a rival
  • Your category is still open and you want it locked before someone else asks
  • You compete hard in a defined area and a defined trade
  • You would rather hear a straight no than a soft maybe

Probably not if

  • You want us regardless of whether your competitor is already here
  • Your industry is adult, pharmaceutical or gambling
  • You are a national brand with no defined service area to protect
  • You want exclusivity without any of the work behind it

Questions

Exclusivity, answered

How narrowly is "industry" defined?

By who you actually compete with for the same search. A residential plumber and a commercial plumbing contractor in the same city are usually different; two residential plumbers are not.

What if my competitor signs first?

Then your category is closed and we will tell you on the first call. We would rather lose the enquiry than take money we cannot do justice to.

Are there exceptions?

We do not offer exclusivity in the adult, pharmaceutical or gambling industries.

Does it apply to every service?

It applies to the search and visibility work, where the conflict is real. Ask us about your specific mix and we will be explicit about what is covered.
